IAB v2 Stats Delay

    What happened?
    On 3/7/2021 at 10 PM PDT (UTC-8) Our cloud-services vendor issued an update to their platform that caused our data processing to fail intermittently.

    On 3/8/2021 at approximately 6:00 AM PDT (UTC-8) the intermittent failures became more frequent as traffic to ART19 increased.

    What was the impact?
    IABv2 statistics, including episode downloads and campaign impressions, were not updating for end-users of the ART19 app for approximately 10 hours. No data was lost during this time.

    How did we resolve the issue?
    We conducted a thorough investigation and concluded that our cloud-service vendor’s update was the root cause of the issue. We notified their team and they modified our configuration to resolve the issue.

    What steps are we taking to prevent future incidents?
    We will be meeting with our vendor to determine whether we can restructure our data processing to prevent future issues.

    The issue affecting IAB v2 stats has been resolved. There was no data loss, however, it may take a few hours for the data to repopulate. We will provide a postmortem later this week.
